Coming soon – Nordic Championship

Nordic Championship strengthens the Nordic PUBG scene

Esport Arena is continuing its push to grow competitive PUBG in the region through the Nordic Championship, a tournament initiative designed to bring Nordic teams together in a structured and long-term competition format.

According to Esport Arena, the championship is part of a broader effort to build a stronger Nordic future for PUBG FPP by creating a shared arena for teams across national borders. The goal is not only to organize competition, but also to support the long-term development of the Nordic community and complement existing national leagues.

The tournament format is intended to include teams at different skill levels. Based on previous results and scrim performance, participating teams are seeded into divisions, allowing both experienced rosters and developing teams to compete in a suitable environment. Over the course of a season, teams play multiple rounds, with promotion and relegation adding an extra competitive element. The winner of the top division is crowned Nordic Champion.

The Prologue - a mirror to the past or foresight into the future?

In the Nordic Championship Prologue, SIMPS claimed victory in unforgettable fashion. The title race in Division 1 came down to the final round, with SIMPS taking the lead after match five and then surviving a chaotic, pressure-filled finale to stay in front of Valuable Veterans. It was the kind of ending every e-sport fan dreams of — tense, unpredictable, and impossible to script. The final podium in Division 1 was SIMPS first, Valuable Veterans second, and Cooked Units third.

The Prologue set the tone for what we can become: fierce rivalries, clutch moments, volunteer casters bringing the broadcast energy, and a growing audience around a shared love for FPP competition. It is worth highlighting that teams from Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Finland did make a huge positive impact, both on the scoreboard and through strong sportsmanship. So from a Norwegian perspective, this has only been a very positive experience, that makes us crave more.

Will new teams emerge and challenge our Prologue Winners? Only time will tell.

Get ready!

In addition to the championship itself, Nordic Scrims play an important role in the wider structure. These scrims give teams regular opportunities to practice, improve, and prepare for official competition, while also helping strengthen the competitive environment across the region. So if the wait feels long, make sure to get ready by participating in our Nordic Scrims – every Thursday.

On Esport Arena’s 2026 competition calendar, the Nordic Championship Spring Season is scheduled from May 11 to June 17, 2026, while the Autumn season is planned for October 19 to December 3, 2026.

With its divisional format, regional focus, and emphasis on long-term growth, the Nordic Championship represents an important step in the continued development of Nordic PUBG competition.
