Esport Arena enters a new cooperation to strenghten sim-racing efforts.
Esport Arena is taking the next step in developing its sim racing community and is planning a collaboration with ECUMaster and the upcoming racing game TrackDay. The partnership aims to build a stronger competitive and community offering for sim racers in Norway and across the Nordic region.
Through this initiative, Esport Arena will establish a new league offering with organised competitions, live broadcasts and activities for both experienced drivers and players looking to get started with sim racing.
ECUMaster will join Esport Arena’s sim racing initiative as the main sponsor. The company develops advanced electronic solutions for motorsport and automotive enthusiasts, including engine management systems, power distribution, sensors and other technical equipment.
The partnership creates a natural connection between virtual racing and the real-world interest in cars, tuning and motorsport.
“We are very pleased to welcome ECUMaster on board. The sim racing community includes many highly engaged players with a strong interest in cars, technology and motorsport. ECUMaster is therefore an excellent fit for our initiative,” says Ole Frode Mikkelsgård of Esport Arena.
ECUMaster will be visible across the league, live broadcasts, website and other sim racing-related content. Both parties share an ambition to develop a partnership that creates value for participants, the community and the partners involved.
As part of the collaboration, Esport Arena will help increase awareness of TrackDay, a new racing game currently under development by Apex7 Studios. ECUMaster is also involved in the project.
TrackDay aims to combine circuit racing with a broader career and car-culture experience. The game has therefore attracted the interest of Esport Arena’s sim racing team, which sees potential for editorial coverage, previews and future activities.
Esport Arena will follow the development of the game and, in cooperation with the developers, aims to publish news, presentations and other content leading up to its release. The possibility of including TrackDay in future competitions or dedicated events will also be considered once the game is ready.
Esport Arena’s sim racing activities will initially target drivers from Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The goal is to create a stable Nordic meeting place where competition, enthusiasm for cars and community are at the centre.
The first phase of the initiative will be based around iRacing. At the same time, Esport Arena is exploring the possibility of expanding into additional games and competition formats at a later stage.
The plan is to organise several seasons and tournaments throughout the year. Races will be broadcast live with commentators, live results and a professional visual presentation.
“We do not want to organise only standalone races. Our ambition is to build a lasting community with regular competitions, high-quality broadcasts and room for drivers at different skill levels. The collaboration with ECUMaster and TrackDay gives us a strong foundation for making that ambition a reality,” says Mikkelsgård.
Esport Arena is a volunteer organisation with more than 1,100 members and activities across several games and competitive formats. Over time, the organisation has developed tournaments, live broadcasts and communities for both Norwegian and Nordic players.
Sim racing is now becoming an important new area within this broader initiative. All support from partners will be used to develop the events, improve production quality and create a better experience for participants.
More information about the league structure, calendar, registration and the first races will be announced as the new sim racing season approaches.
